Radiation City // Live From The Banana Stand (2013)

The latest live release from the Banana Stand features the beautifully doomy Radiation City.

Call their sound “Jetsons-era doo wop” (Willamette Week did) or indie pop (everyone else seems to be), or listen to this tension-filled offering from a Summer 2012 recording from the Banana Stand here in Portland and decide for yourself.

What I hear is one of Portland’s more original bands coming together for a truly wonderful performance filled with melodic vocal interplay and tragically downtrodden musical arrangements that would surely make the late Lou Reed proud.

Regardless of how you define it, if you like what you hear, please support the band and future releases like this from other great bands at the Banana Stand by naming a fair price when downloading it.

(below is a video of “Color of Industry” from this same release)
