Nirvana // 9-10-92 // Portland Meadows

This show was originally scheduled for August 22nd (as you’ll notice the show poster shows this date), but was rescheduled for September 10th due to the birth of Courtney and Kurt’s daughter. The show was billed as the “No On 9 Benefit” and aside from Nirvana, it also included performances from Poison Idea, Calamity Jane, Helmet, and Jello Biafra. Mudhoney, who was originally scheduled to perform, did not play due to the date change.

In the audio of the show below, at the 1:01:00 mark, you can hear Kurt’s Axl Rose story which he told on this day, as they had had an encounter with the Guns ‘N’ Roses front man the previous night at the MTV Music Awards.

Breed, Drain You, Aneurysm, School, Sliver, In Bloom, Come As You Are, Lithium, About A Girl, tourette’s, Polly, Lounge Act, Smells Like Teen Spirit, On A Plain, Negative Creep, Been A Son, All Apologies, Blew
Encore: Stay Away, D-7, Love Buzz, Rape Me, Territorial Pissings
