Poster19780716ParamountIn March 1978, Bob Marley and the Wailers released the album “Kaya”. The record was a laid back album of love ballads and a not so subtle homage to ganja.

The Kaya Tour set sail in May of ’78 and continued well into August and took the band through the States as well as Europe. The tour also produced the band’s second live album, “Babylon By Bus,” which  included many of the band’s standards of the day.

The Wailers stopped in Portland on July 16th of that tour where they played the Paramount Theater (now known as Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall) in downtown for Bob’s lone performance in the Rose City.

Positive Vibration, Them Belly Full (But We Hungry), Concrete Jungle, Rebel Music (3 O’Clock Roadblock), The Heathen, War > No More Trouble, Running Away > Crazy Baldhead, I Shot The Sheriff, No Woman, No Cry, Jammin’, Easy Skanking, Get Up, Stand Up, Exodus
