Alabama Shakes // 8-7-15 // Edgefield

20150807AlabamaShakes08Alabama Shakes brought their unique sound, a blend of rock/blues/soul, to a sold out crowd at McMenamins Edgefield to support their Number One album, Sound & Color. From the opening song, Brittany Howard, lead vocalist and guitarist, set the tone and energy for the night with the raw emotion of her vocals and guitar playing. With a solid rhythm section, tasteful keyboard embellishment, feel-good, dirty guitar tones, and soulful animated vocals, Howard and the band kept the energy high throughout the night.

The crowd reciprocated the energy by dancing and singing throughout the night. Howard noted this and thanked everyone for coming out and especially thanked those who had to call in sick to work or get a babysitter to make it to the show. It’s refreshing to see a humble artist that is truly thankful for fans supporting them and going to their concerts.

See them live! You won’t be disappointed.
